Maple veneered batten board, solid maple for edge-banding, glass doors, solid maple for the carved and painted feet.
The cabinet is free standing and made to measure for use in an empty corner of a small bathroom. Sliding glass doors were used to utilize as much as possible the small space available and also to allow easy access to the cabinet interior. The glass doors, after consultation with my customers, were patterned, sandblasted and cut to size to our own specifications. The height of the cabinet is just over two metres and had to be constructed with the help of a pattern as the corner was not a true right angle but slightly more than 90°.The cabinet carcase was made from batten board with a beautifully figured maple veneer, finished off with maple edge banding. The two front feet were cut and carved from solid maple then finished with acrylic paints. The carcase was completed with a polyurethane laquer and when dry, rubbed out with fine steel wool.
